- Synopsis
- This paper presents an outline of the revised edition (published in September of this year) of the Architectural Institute of Japan (AIJ)’s “Test Methods for Quality Control and Maintenance of Reinforced Concrete Buildings”. This book, originally published in 2007, is a compilation of points to keep in mind when conducting various tests and inspections covering areas such as quality control of concrete materials and concrete from production to their use in construction, performance evaluation of materials and members after completion of construction, and investigation and diagnosis for maintenance and renovation. The revised edition primarily updates and amends testing, inspection, and evaluation methods based on relevant AIJ standards, Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS), and building regulation-related laws. It incorporates changes, additions, and deletions to various standards over the approximately 17 years that have elapsed since the original publication, and introduces new test methods such as the “Method for Measuring the Location of Reinforcing Bars in Concrete Using Electromagnetic Wave Radar” (CTM-12).
