- Synopsis
- To achieve new effective uses for fly ash and the creation of low-carbon concrete, we developed an environmentally friendly precast concrete that maximizes the utilization of fly ash, based on existing knowledge of alkali-activated materials. This paper reports on the development background, including the trends in the generation of coal ash and its effective utilization at present, the concept and manufacturing method of the developed concrete, as well as its mechanical performance as RC beams, and its superior resistance to sulfuric acid and chloride ingress compared to cement-based concrete.
