Outline of "Assessment Guideline for the Local Failure of Structures Subjected to Impact Actions" and "Safety Assessment of Concrete Structures Subjected to Explosion" by JSDFE
Concrete Journal, Vol.56, No.10, Oct. 2018
- Synopsis
- Recent years have seen an increase in the number of impact hazards caused by tornado missiles and volcanic cinder due to extreme weather and crustal movement. Moreover, terrorist bombings and accidental explosion accidents are also on the rise. While the probability of occurrence of such disasters is small, once a disaster occurs, structures are seriously damaged by impact or explosive action, which in turn has a very serious impact on society. However, studies and design methods targeting impact and explosive actions are very few at present. This paper introduces a design guideline for local damage of concrete structures subjected to impact action published by the Japan Society of Defense Facility Engineers, and technical documentation on safety assessment of concrete structures subject to explosive action, and explains their respective content and features.
