- Synopsis
- Class-A joints are joints having performance that is almost equivalent to that of rebar base material, but until now the conventional method of evaluating performance was specified for each joining method and there was no unified concept. Therefore, JRJI prepared the performance evaluation standard for Class-A joints to be applied to all joining methods, established four basic performance attributes (configuration, strength, rigidity, and toughness) that a rebar joint should possess, and defined the performance verification test method and the criteria for the test results with regard to each attribute. The conventional performance evaluation methods specified according to the joining method have been unified by this standard, and as a result, it has become possible to select the appropriate method from among various joining methods.
