Synopsis
The Architectural Institute of Japan published "Recommendation for Practice of High-Strength Concrete" in November 2013. Eight years have passed already since the first edition (January 2005), during which high-strength concrete related technology has made great advances, as attested by the fact that many constructions now exceed 80 N/mm2 in design strength. Furthermore, various specifications, guidelines and JIS standards related to high-strength concrete have also been revised. The revision of "Recommendation for Practice of High-Strength Concrete" was carried out to achieve consistency with the above-mentioned advances and revisions. This paper gives an overview of this latest revision of "Recommendation for Practice of High-Strength Concrete".
