- Synopsis
- Technical development with regard to concrete deck slab of highway bridges so far was firstly reviewed with emphasis on the durability against inherent severe loadings and environmental condition of a deck slab. Then, the recent trend and the significat effect of transverse prestressing in concrete slabs was described including the use of pre-grouted prestressing strands by means of delayed-hardening epoxy resin although urgent problems had been reported relating to the hardening process of the resin, etc.. To solve the problems, development and utilization of Multi-unbonded epoxy-coated strand cable for the use in transverse prestressing were proposed and discussed according to experimental results.
