Concrete Journal, Vol.47, No.7, Jul. 2009

Synopsis
Reinforced Concrete Boxed Wall-Buildings are structural system developed to fill lack of number of housings in Japan after World War II. It is easy to calculate stresses in structural members caused by horizontal load, because of using Method of Average-Shear Stress. In the new guidelines for structural performance evaluation, the seismic performance is directly evaluated and provisions are provided for more superior comfortable and flexible spaces of this system. This reports is the outlines of this guidelines.
