- Synopsis
- Quality problems in constructed concrete structures has been focused in society. These problems were mainly led by increasing unit water amount in concrete mix proportion due to pumping concrete construction, and poor casting technique by immature labors in sites. Increasing amount of steel reinforcement in structures also prevented from properly casting concrete. To solve these problems, JSCE just published "Recommendation for Mix Design of Fresh Concrete and Construction Placement related Performance Evaluation" in March of 2007. This recommendation involves quantitative evaluation scheme of fresh concrete workability and resulting mix proportion design method. Furthermore, proper construction procedure according to targeted members like walls and columns are indicated in the recommendation.
