Synopsis
In conventional visual inspection after an earthquake, degree of damage in RC buildings is diagnosed from cracking and crushing condition in concrete. If the residual and maximum story drifts can be informed, it is effective to shorten the time for inspection and to resume business and living rapidly. We have developed the displacement sensor, whose maximum, minimum and cumulative displacements can be memorized. These data can be transferred to the wireless data reader, if the comes close to the transmitter. At the same time, signal light inform the simple diagnosis results in 3 levels (red, yellow and green). In this report, The threshold value (story drift) for diagnosis is investigated by case study using earthquake response analysis.
