- Principles of the revision of Maintenance Manual for Habor Facilities (provisional) are introduced in this paper. According to this manual, maintenance of existing harbour facilities will be done based on the performance verification system and the life-cycle management technique during the service life of structures. The maintenance work including inspection, evaluation, prediction, and remedial action is briefly explained with standardized manners. To select the most appropriate remedial action, the life-cycle cost will be estimated among their alternatives for extending the lifespan of structures. The Markovian model will be introduced for this purpose. The revised version of manual will be published by the end of March 2006.
