- Synopsis
- Based on the activities of JCI Research Committee on Structural Testing Methodology for Concrete Structures and Evaluation of the Results, the state of the art of the structural testing for reinforced concerete structures are reported. A lot of structural tests conducted in many research institute and universities in Japan have played an important role in constructing the structural theories and establishing the structural design procedures. However, many issues that should be examined still remains, such as the reliability of experimental data, the normalization of testing methods and evaluation procedures, the constructing method of database and so on. Continuous efforts to solve the problems are desired.
