- Synopsis
- The spalling off accident of the piece of concrete from a concrete structure arises, and it has been the big problem of maintenance management. Prevention of spalling off must be carried out for the purpose of the life cycle cost of a structure becoming the minimum from now on. The Japan Highway Public Corporation developed the prevention method of spalling off as preventive maintenance, and has applied to the actual structure widely. This paper reports the performances of the spalling off prevention and crack width control by the method which wraps the reinforced concrete structures at the new construction with the sandy aramid fiber mesh, and the a construction example.
