- Synopsis
- Concrete infrastructures have been generally constructed using exposed concrete finishing on-their surface since additional finishing materials are considered to rather deteriorate durability. This is very different from building structures, which are usually coated with various finishing materials. However, durability enhancement in concrete infrastructures recently attracts heavy social interests, where applying modern surface protection and surface improvement technology appears to effectively contribute. Hence JSCE technical committee has focused this technology since 2001, in which this technology is demonstrated substantial potential. This article summarizes the state-of-the-art of this technology based on the activity in the committee.
