- Synopsis
- Surface coatings have been applied for reinforced concrete structures as counter measures of deterioration induced by chloride attack and/or alkali aggregate reaction. As the durability of surface coatings is not sufficient for the service life of concrete structures, it is common that surface coatings are removed and repainted repeatedly, during the life of concrete structures. This paper deals with the evaluation of existing removal methods through the results of trial application of several removal methods to surface coatings of PC beam which is deteriorated by chloride induced corrosion.
