- Nondestructive testing (NDT) methods are widely expected as one of important techniques for the maintenance of concrete structures.Thinking about the life cycle cost of the structures,preventive inspection,which evaluates the deterioration of the structures continuously,will be necessary and NDT will play an important part.There are many kinds and types of NDT techniques,nevertheless they seem not to be characterized and classified sufficiently.In order to provide good information about the maintenance of the structures, it will be necessary to clarify the practical characteristics of NDT techniques respectively.
