Test of the Frictional Resistance for Sliding of the Mortar Usedfor the Base of the Precast Concrete Retaining Wall

- Synopsis
- When precast concrete retaining wall is installed, the mortar must be spread between the base of the wall and the top of the cast-in-place base concrete for the purpose of adjustment of the level of the wall. For a design of the frictional resistance for sliding of the wall, we must take into consideration not only c.i.p. base concrete but the mortar. This paper describes the frictional resistance for sliding of the mortar based on some tests, and presents the design method.
